Fishing Our Region

Cooby Dam - Its been pretty steady fishing from Cooby this past week, considering the amount of rain, perfect timing just before the weather has heated back up. The fish have moved quite shallow working the shallow weed edges has been popular, trolling shallow diving hardbodies parallel to the bank has worked quite well. Still with good numbers of fish holding up the northern arm, the edges of the creek bed have been the best option. either bait fishing with saltwater yabbies or vertical jigging blades and soft vibes.

Leslie Dam - By far the most consistent Yellow Belly lake at the present time. Great signs of Cod still on the bite before they do their yearly spawn. plenty of smaller fish up to 70cm, either sandy creek has been popular as well as around the wall and Cod Alley. Larger swimbaits like the Jackall Gantarel and Baitsanity explorer gills worked well. For the Yellow belly fisherman still plenty on the bite amongst the deeper water. Finding isolated structure off the edges of the creek bed is key, again working blades and smaller soft vibes have been getting most of the attention, for the bait anglers Saltwater Yabbies and live worms working well.

Coolmunda Dam - Great to see this lake still fishing well throughout the Cooler months, good numbers of both cod and Yellow belly being caught around the timber, working blades close to structure has been consistent, while casting larger spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits has also worked quite well.
Trolling the tree lines has also been productive, working Jackall Tn60's has been effective.

Boondooma Dam
- Boondooma has risen in water level over the last week which has really fired up the edge bite and back arms of the lake, working suspending hardbodies along the edges has been effective as well as jackals and spinnerbaits, Pelican Point and the junction still holding good numbers of schooled fish as well, spoons, blades and plastics being the lures of choice.

Monduran Dam - Mondy has been fishing quite well over the past few weeks. Finding the warm water at the backs of windblown bays have been key. Using Jackall 79 Squirrels. Rapala 5.5" heavy hitters, Fishcraft Dr shads and zerek live mullets have been popular options. Trolling has seen a few caught on Barra classics and 115 Super Squirels.
