Product of The Week - Shimano Antares 70HGA
The Shimano Antares 70 A is an ultra-high-performance low-profile baitcasting reel loaded with Shimano's most advanced technologies. Fishing Our Region
Cooby Dam - These past few weeks we have had some great fishing, the Cod have been well and truely on the bite, with a lot of anglers getting a few smaller cod in a session. The Yellow Belly haven't stopped biting amongst the deeper water. These fish have been suspended along the bouy line all the way to the start of the northern arm. Trolling hardbodies and lipless crankbaits around that 15 foot mark has been the standout. Plenty of fish still off the edges of the creek bed if your willing to put the time in to locate them. Blades and Gulp grubs working well on these fish. For the bait anglers, saltwater yabbies and live worms being effective.
Cressbrook Dam - It's been some hard fishing for the bass anglers. That being the said there's plenty of Yellow belly to be caught around the lake, the sunken fish attractant devices have been holding good numbers of fish, vertically jigging blades and smaller soft vibes have been the standout lures.
Coolmunda Dam - Coolmunda is well and truely back with some unbelievable fishing. Big numbers of both cod and yellow belly have been located al throught out the creek bed, targeting the edges of the creek bed where any structure is has been key, trolling size 2 stump jumpers and Jackall Tn60's has been dominant on these fish. The timber is also holding some very good fish, Jigging blades and soft vibes has worked very well.
Leslie Dam - This lake has been red hot all year and still producing some incredible fish both Cod and Yellow Belly. fishing very similar to our other lakes trolling the edges of the creek bed or structure opposite the wall has been very popular. The range of Keza lures like the Mudrat and Mudmouse have been the standout as well as Smak Hardbodies in the golden child, lipless crankbaits like Jackall's have also been working well. For the bait anglers saltwater yabbies have again caught some very good fish.
Moogerah Dam - By far the pick of the Local bas lakes with some good fish holding inside the timber around the 6knot zone, casting Hot Bite spectres and TN60's close to structure has been key. the Quality of fish has been well above average for this time of year with plenty of 50cm caught. Out in the main basin working points and edges of creek beds with plastics like the ever faithful Slider grub has been the standout yet again. Also Casting or Trolling the popular HideUp 400 Crankbaits have has plenty of attention aswell.
Lake Monduran - If you'r keen for a barra mission, now is go time with the lake fishing very well. The lake has been very busy with alot of anglers heading up there. Which has made the bite periods quite small with this amount of boat traffic. trolling has been very productive in the main basin all the way up to Bird Bay the main creek channel has been very popular. The ever faithful Barra classic 15ft and Jackall 115 squirrel has claimed a lot of fish. Further up the lake North and South B Bay is still holding plenty of fish just getting them to bite has been hard at times, a large variety of lures depending on the depth of water your fishing. Samaki Redic DS80, Molix 140 and Zerek Live Mullet have again been the standout baits.
