Fishing Our Region
Cooby Dam - Cooby has been fishing quite well over the past week with plenty of fish being caught. targeting the deeper water has had the most success. Vertical jigging tt switchprawns and zerek fish traps have been working well. Trolling has had the most success using Smak Blitz bagas and rmg poltergeists. Saltwater Yabbies and live worms being the go to bait.
Cressbrook Dam - Cressy has been quite tough as of late. Targeting the deeper water around the points has been popular. Throwing wasaby spoons, 1/2oz plastics and jackall mask vibes have all been popular options. Trolling has been successful finding the active fish using Little rippers 18+ and smak Golden childs. saltwater yabbies being the go to bait.
Leslie Dam - Leslie has been fishing quite consistently as of late with plenty of fish being caught. Finding structure on the bottom is key. Jigging zx blades and samaki vibelicious have been working well. Trolling the edges of the creek bed has seen some quality fish caught using kezza Playpus 65 and Ac invaders 70mm. Live Shrimp and worms have been popular bait choices.
Coolmunda Dam - Coolmunda has been very hit and miss as of late but putting the time in has seen some nice fish get caught. Fishing the timber with tn60s and spinner baits have been the best options. Trolling the creek bed with Barambah b60s and hideup 400s has been working well. Saltwater yabbies and worms have been popular bait options.
Lake Monduran - Monduran has been firing as of late with heaps of giants being caught. Fishing the treelines and tops of trees with Jackall 115 Super Squirrels and zerek live mullets has seen many fish caught. Trolling 10ft barra classics and heavy weighted plastics such as the Sicarios and molix rt shads through the thermocline have been producing good numbers of fish.
