Product Of The Week - SHIMANO - BANTAM 150
Shimano released its first baitcasting reel, Bantam, 40 years ago to the market. This began what is now a legacy of durable and high-performance casting reels. The Bantam MGL establishes a new benchmark for rigidity and the new CoreSolid Body design combines multiple parts and integrates the B-side, frame and levelwind guard into a single aluminum piece to provide unmatched solidity. This full aluminum construction gives anglers the rigid feeling of a round reel with the ergonomics and comfort of a low-profile reel. The MGL Spool reduces spool inertia to improve casting distance. The Bantam is tough as nails and will suit a variety of lure applications and target species, from Bass to Barramundi.

Cooby - Some consistent reports are starting to come through on our local lake. With the weather heating up and some much better weather the fishing has improved. The bait anglers having the better success this week, saltwater yabbies and live worms. Otherwise trolling deep diving hardbodies has been very efficient amongst the deeper water.
Cressbrook - It’s been quite steady and a little slow since the last lot of rain. The fish have been very spread out throughout the main basin and up into the arms. The larger lake points is holding good number of fish including the point to the left of the boat ramp. Metal blades and soft plastics worked through the suspended fish has been the best option.
Leslie - Much better than previous weeks after some much more consistent weather. The Yellow belly have been in good numbers on the edge of the creek bed, the best method has been jigging Zx Blades and soft vibes. Covering ground and searching for those active ones is your best bet. A few smaller cod were caught amongst bait anglers on both saltwater yabbies and prawns.
Somerset - It’s great to hear some good reports from our Big fish lake. Spring is well and truly on its way and so are the big bass. The edge fishing has proved to be more successful with better numbers of fish caught. Working the larger rockier banks with lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits and deeper jerkbaits proving to be the lures of choice. While there is some schooled fish starting to show up around red rock and pelican point but these fish have been a little harder to tempt.
Jumpinpin - It’s been by far the best season if your into your saltwater fishing, the flathead have been in huge numbers. The shallow flats around Crusoe island has been a popular spot. Flathead on swimbaits is fast becoming a very successful technique and with good reason. A lot of anglers having some great sessions fishing ultra shallow water with big baits. Good numbers of Jew have also been caught towards the bar, soft vibes and 5 inch Jerkshads have proved effective.
Monduran - That time of year is upon us and it’s only going to get better from here! This week we seen some better numbers of fish caught. Shallow and warm water is key, these fish are slowly starting to become a lot more active and searching for warmer water and bait. Studying the wind prior to your trip is a must. Smaller baits have has much better results, suspending hardbodies like the ever popular Jackall 79 HankTune has been the stand out bait along with 5 and 6 inch plastics fished towards the backs of bays has been productive.
