Product of The Week - Jollip Lures

Jollip Lures is run by a fishing mad family, based in the Northern rivers of NSW. Owner Joey Urquhart founded Jollip in 2014 and while its still young  its growth has been fantastic in such a short time. Joey being such a fishing fanatic and his love for bass fishing is what got the idea started. With over 20 years of fishing experience combined with a lure maker is what it takes to produce a quality product that catches fish. Jollip lures are all made from various timbers and fitted out with stainless hardware along with high quality hooks and split rings. Every single lure is individually hand painted which means sometimes there will be a slight variation which is what makes timber lures so great.

Fishing Our Region

Cooby Dam - Cooby still remains very consistent even after the recent rain, good numbers of yellow belly have been found around the edges as well this week. Casting Jackall TN60 has been successful for this as well as spinnerbaits, the deeper parts amongst the northern arm and out in front of the ramp still holds good numbers as well. Jigging blades and soft vibes for these fish has been effective. As for the bait anglers, both shrimp and saltwater yabbies being popular.

Cressbrook Dam - Some good fishing these past few weeks and it continues even better after the rain, a good edge bite has tempted a lot of anglers hitting the lake, again TN60's, Chatterbaits have been the go to, finally good schools have been located in the main basin off the larger points, working 20 gram spoons and heavier plastics to these fish has been popular, still plenty of red claw around and should be even better after the water clears.

Leslie Dam - Our best fishery by far in regards to Quantity and Quality of fish, the majority of the fish that have been caught have been around the edges of the creek beds and tight to the spindly timber around the deeper edges, sandy creek has also been very productive. Some good run in during the week will see this lake fish very well coming up to school holidays, the bait fisherman still picking up good fish, saltwater yabbies and worms proving to best the best.

Somerset Dam - A Big improvement from previous weeks, plenty of fish have been located inside of Bay 13 and have been reacting very well to both plastics and spoons, keeping these lures tight to the bottom is key. Anglers trolling are having some very good sessions as well, working the RMG Poltergeist and Little ripper lures.

Moogerah Dam - This lake has had plenty of attention over the past few months and with good reason, plenty of quality bass on the bite on the inside of the timber, Hot Bite Specters, Plastics and spoons have all had their days.

Monduran Dam - With recent rain and Hotter temps its really got the Barra moving towards the Southern end of the lake around the dam wall, with that being said the trolling anglers have had some very special sessions catching big numbers of large fish, Trolling the old faithful Barra Classic and Jackall 115 Squirrel has worked as well as larger plastics like the Molix 140. Further up the lake there's still plenty of Barra around both South and North Arm Of Bay and Bird Bay, finding the larger predominant points will be your best best, again its hard to go past the Molix 140 and Squidgie Slick rig.
