Fishing Our Region

Cooby Dam - Another Week of consistent fishing from our local lake, plenty of Yellow belly on the move. The deeper edges of the creek bed has been successful, jigging blades and soft vibes for the lure fisherman as well as Live Shrimp and Saltwater yabbies for the bait anglers. Trolling is getting better week by week, The deeper baits like the Little Rippers, Cooby Cobba Might Might and Predatek Boomerangs

Cressbrook Dam - Cressbrook has fired up in good timing with the school holidays, Both the edge fishing and the school fishing has been quite good. During the mornings spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits and Jackall Tn60's. If your keen to locate the school in the basin, Plastics and spoons have both been productive as well as Metal Blades and Soft vibes, Jigging these tight to the bottom has caught some good Yellow Belly.

Leslie Dam
- Leslie has fished unbelievable yet again, the edges of the creek beds have seen the most success as well as out in front of the dam wall and the mouth of sandy creek. Jigging Blades and Vibes have worked a treat yet again, finding isolated structure close to the bottom is key. For the bait anglers saltwater yabbies have worked very well. Trolling has also picked up in the last few weeks with plenty of fish caught including a lot of undersized cod. Little rippers, RMG Poltergeist and Jackall TN60's have all been effective.

Somerset - Somerset has been fishing awesome the past few weeks. Bay 13 and pelican point between 25ft - 35ft have been where the majority of fish have been caught. 20 g spoons such as the gangbanger g2s and palms slow blatt oval, sliders and spectres have been popular choices. For the trolling anglers RMG Poltergeists. little rippers 18+ and Hideup 400s have been popular. Live shrimp and saltwater yabbies have been popular bait options.

Monduran
- Mondy has been firing over the past few weeks with plenty of Barra being caught. Good numbers of fish are holding in the main basin, Trolling anglers have been taking advantage of these deep suspended fish, a good variety of baits have been working, Barra Classics and Jackall 115 super squirrels have accounted for some good sessions. If your keen on throwing lures at these deeper fish its hard to go past the Molix 140, squidgy slick rig 130 and zerek Live Mullet. Further up the lake has still seen plenty of fish getting around, Both Bird Bay and B Bay has been popular, those same baits have in these areas, just targeting deeper points has been the best on finding those larger fish.

Logan River - Definitely a spot to keep on your radar, the Logan is getting quite popular with the amount of threadfin salmon being caught, The mouth of the river is where you should start searching fore these fish, the edges of the main channel up onto the flats is where these fish have been feeding, soft vibes and paddle plastics has has plenty of success.
